Founder of Maresign, Master Mariner
Maresign was built by someone who stood the watch. Twenty years at sea as a Master Mariner, and a Flag State Surveyor — I have signed, carried and inspected the documents that maritime trade runs on. I have seen a “digital” bill of lading printed at a destination port because a bank wanted wet ink and a customs desk didn’t recognise the electronic version.
That gap between what technology can do and what the law will honour — the Sovereign Bottleneck — is why Maresign exists. As the authorised channel partner of ArkSigner, a state-accredited Certificate Authority in Türkiye, we deliver qualified electronic signature (QES) workflows that are legally solid today under law already in force; and we are building the sovereign eBL infrastructure engineered for statutory recognition as Türkiye’s MLETR reform lands.
I write the analysis on this site myself, from the operational side — naming the problems that remain unsolved, including in my own field. The law is not a slide deck. It answers to a casualty investigation, a Port State Control inspection, and a strict customs desk.
